Myth: If you eat well before drinking, you will not face any issues.
Fact: Eating heavily before drinking can only slow down the absorption alcohol, but it can’t prevent anyone from getting drunk. The body begins absorbing alcohol through the stomach lining and small intestine, so if your tummy is full of food, there is a delay for the buzz to kick in. But it is always advisable to never drink on an empty stomach.

Myth: If you switch between spirits, you will get wasted.
Fact: Rather than the type of drinks that you have mixed; start with a few rounds of beer and move on to hard liquor for instance, it is the quantity that you consume which will determine your high.

It actually affects the dendrites, which are those tiny feelers on neurons that convey messages from your brain to your body. If heavy alcohol consumption is accompanied by lack of nutrients, then there could be lasting damage.

Myth: A cup of coffee is the best way to sober up.
Fact: Studies show that drinking a cup of coffee can counter alcohol’s effect, but it doesn’t actually sober you up. You get less drunk only when your body metabolizes the alcohol absorbed and nothing can speed up that process.
