1. Keralite Thali
The Keralite thali is also known as the South Indian thali. The Keralite thali is a great example of the elaborate meals that the country is very well known for. There’s hardly any rule to this thali at all and it famously contains liberal helpings of rice, sambhar, kootu (vegetables curry cooked with lentils), kosumri, paapad, curd and for desert, there’s akkaravadisal (a sweet made with rice and lentils) to complete the meal.
2. Andhra Thali
Every region in India has a wonderful food tale to tell. And an Andhra thali is complemented with certain essential components, which makes it quintessentially Andhra. The Andhra meal begins with the Mudda Pappu and Neyyi (desi ghee), Charu, Avakaya and Perugu (dahi).
4. Maharashtrian Thali
Maharashtrian cuisine is known to have mildly spicy food. In Maharashtrian thali There are usually both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes. The dishes differ in different parts of Maharashtra. There are sweets like Aamras and Sheera which are excellent desserts. 5. Gujarathi Thali
A festive Gujarati Thali often contains over a dozen items. Dietary rules restrict the permissible combination of dishes. For example, if kadhi is to be served, then a lentil preparation such as chutti dal, vaal, or mung ki daal will also be included. The sweet dish accompanying kadhi will likely be milk or yogurt–based, like doodhpak or shrikhand. However, a yogurt-based raita would not be served with such a meal. Festive meals based on daal will typically have a wheat-based sweet dish like lapsi or laddu as the sweet accompaniment.
7. Bhojpuri Thali
Any first timer shall be quite definitely pleasantly surprised with the multitude of flavours that characterize the Bhojpuri thali. The crispy bharbhara, the usual dahi chura for breakfast, golden brown sattu ka paratha, ghugni, the kala channa curry, besan ki sabji/ besan ki machhli and the sweet raw mango curries will take you on a culinary journey like no other.
8. Rajasthani Thali
The Rajasthani thali, true to its name is a culinary delight. Dishes like lal maas, the famous dal bati churma, khichda, lehsun ki chutney and bajre ki roti are really equally loved and well known. And then you have dishes from different places such as mawa kachori from Jodhpur, juicy sweet rasgulle from Bikaner and malpuas from Pushkar.
10. Kathiawadi Thali
Now this is what is called an intimidating platter, because the names of most Gujarati dishes are no less than tongue twisters. Gujarati cuisine is really well known for a hint of sweetness in almost every dish. That goes for the dishes that are meant to be savoury and quite spicy even. Signature dishes include raasawala dhokla, bajra bhakri, methi thepla, kathiawadi akha adad, Gujarati dal, chaas and gol papdi.
11. Assamese Thali
A traditional Assamese thali is real culinary joy. Its certainly a burst of very fresh and unusual herby flavours. A traditional assam meal starts with “Khar” which is can be made in many different ways traditionally they add dried banana skin in the khar. 13. Haryanvi Thali
The Haryanvi thali is really simple.
